China, Beijing. A Chinese man and his son at the Happy Magic Water Park...Beijing Olympic aquatic centre, known as the Water Cube, where superstar Michael Phelps won eight gold medals, re-opened as Asia's largest indoor water park and is pulling in new crowds - that is, those that are rich enough to afford the tickets, placed at 200 yuan for adults and 160 for children in a city were the minimum monthly salary amounts to 1000 yuan. Like other Olympic installation the Water Cube, with its peculiar bubble-like exterior, was on its way to become a white elephant when the number of visitors started to fall a few months after the 2008 games. After a 24 million euro face-lift, the management is hoping that the new 'Happy Magic Water Park' will become a popular attraction for Beijing burgeoning middle class.
