1937 Haunted Beijing: what remainsAdd to Lightbox Download
China, Beijing. Dongjiaominxiang Alley, called Legation Street, was once the main thoroughfare of the Legation Quarter.
Former Legation Quarter: Once a tiny replica of Europe in the middle of the Chinese capital complete with clubs, hotels, bars, banks, department stores and a cinema. Now it's all gone. In 1937, armed soldiers guarded all entrances to the Quarter, today, anyone can stroll the European-style streets but many of the buildings house government offices where is not possible to enter.
